Bell times

Do we have a School Bell?

At Snowy Valleys School we have designated learning sessions and eating times that all classes follow, although we do not have electronic bells.

We have found that students are comfortable moving into the next session without the need for electronic bells and the only time our traditional school bell is rung is at the end of Recess and Lunch by a student nominated by the 'on-duty teacher'.

Bell Times

Morning Supervision Begins 8:45am
Morning Session 9:10am - 11:00am
Recess 11:00am - 11:20am
Middle Session 11:20am - 1:10pm
Lunch 1:10pm - 1:50pm
Last Session 1:50pm - 3:10pm
End of the Day 3:10pm

Before and After School

The playground is not under direct teacher supervision before 8.45 am or after 3.10 pm each day. For the safety and welfare of your child, he/she should not be in the playground outside these stated times.

School ends at 3.10 pm. We would appreciate it if you could arrange for your child to be collected as soon as possible after this time if they do not travel by Assisted School Travel, local buses or walk home independently. A staff member is rostered on bus duty each day to supervise the safety of students onto buses as required.

Absences

Every day matters for your child’s learning. You must contact the school if your child is absent, late or has to leave early. If you have trouble getting your child to school, please contact us - we're here to help.

The Department of Education has more details and resources to help with student attendance.
