What does our P&C do?
At Snowy Valleys School our P&C (Parents and Carers Association) is an integral part of our school and provide essential supports for our students. It is also a good opportunity to meet with other parents and families.
Being a small school, we rely on parent assistance for fundraising activities. Funds raised by the P&C go directly to supporting all children within the school and help to keep the school buses running. The P&C also contributes to decision-making and developing community connections.
What has our P&C achieved?
While our P&C has had many achievements over the year and consistantly raise money for important programs at our school some of the main stand outs have been:
- A New Bus: Our P&C has been tirelessly fundrasing for a new 21 seater bus since 2022, as our one of our old buses is being retired. We have successfully conducted a number of street stalls, canteen facilities, Christmas raffle, Trivia Night and the ‘Steps for Snowy Valleys’ (walk-a-thon). All of that work has finally paid off and we can now proudly say we have purchased a new bus that is currently being built and will undergo modifications for our students needs.
- Continual funds to keep our buses running: While having buses to make external activites possible is amazing. There are still many ongoing costs associated with keeping them roadworthy and our P&C continue to fund this.
- Providing funds for transport of students to and from Work Experience: This is cruical for our students to work towards their goals and equip them for post-school options.
- Providing funds for our Christmas lunch and santa visit: Every year our P&C hold a Christmas lunch for all our students and teachers to enjoy a meal together and celebrate the year together!
Who is on our P&C?
Any parents, carers or people from the school community can particapate in our P&C. Any level of support is greatly appreciated by our small P&C.
Parents and carers who feel they cannot particapate in our P&C as a member, can still particapate in any fundrasing or upcoming events.
Currently in 2025 our P&C members are; Maggie Talbot, Lisa Carmody, Mahala O'Connell, Fran Butler, Kristi Knight and Elise Shirt.

When Does our P&C meet?
The Snowy Valleys School P&C meets twice a term after school for a short catch up and to discuss any upcoming events.
