Work Experience

Training for life after school is a critical component of our school program for senior students. The aim of these programs is for students to develop sound work practices and appropriate social behaviours necessary to be a member of the working community.

In-school programs include:

  • Maintaining school grounds.
  • Gardening.
  • Growing vegetables.
  • Recycling.
  • Shredding.
  • Internal school jobs.
  • Delivering messages.
  • Book returns in the school library.

Community based work placements include:

  • Working in the kitchen at local restaurants/coffee shops.
  • Landcare
  • Pinecom Timber Recycling service
  • Activities at the local Mens Shed.
  • Activities with residents at Bupa.
  • Working at the local bakery.
  • Assisting at a local child care centre.
  • Working at Mitre 10 hardware store.
  • Working at Tumut Waste and Recycling Centre.
